Monza 1966 Track, 1967 Bots and Skin

Notapor Stefanus » Vie Ago 19, 2016 10:18 pm

Hi all! I've made the Monza 1966 track and bots from 1967, with a fitting 1967 skin. At this moment they are still awaiting acceptance. Hope they get accepted, and when they do, I hope you will have fun with it! :D

To make it a bit more realistic I recommend a setup of 58/00/00/14 or 50-57/00/00/14-24

How stupid of me! I tweaked the F1-1967 Skin several times and so I made a new zip several times. But in the last one I forgot to include the Readme that should be included. The readme says:

Skin created from the profiles
created by Zerocoult and Vany for MiniRacingOnline.

So, many thanks to Zerocoult and Vany for making it quite easy for me to create the skin!

:green: I hope it will be good enough. Working on a version with the oval (and fitting bot pack of F1). And I'm considering making a bot pack for the 1000 km of Monza 1967 World Sportscar Championship. And thinking of making a 1.17 version, so I would need to change the perspective of several parts... Woah, so much to do!

By the way, is there a way to meddle with the pitstop times? I guess it would be easy to cheat if it was so easy to change it, but by making the pitstops longer, they would be more historically accurate.

Hi

Today I returned from my vacation. This night at home I upload all pack: track, bots and skin for version 1.12 and make cars/bots for version 1.17.
The skin need more work (and days) to convert to version 1.17

:-/  It's available for download! Of course, it's tested on my computer, but I don't know if others have problems I didn't encounter or didn't think of. I already noticed one small mistake, and that's the position of the object at the inside of the parabolica. In the Info.ini of the track:

Objeto012 has X=6514

It should be X=5146

Keep me updated! Suggestions are welcome.

I'm working on the circuit that will include the oval, with cars from the World Sportscar Championship of the 1000 km of Monza 1967. It's so much fun to see the track ready for download, I love Monza! :green:

The cars from the 60s are really beautiful eh? :D For most of the cars I've captured models from Assetto Corsa (with the free 1967 add-on) from above and made decent MRO cars of them. And I googled a lot. You could have a look at the Lotus 49 made by Skelter. Skelter's car is really nice, I partly based my design of the Lotus 49 on his car. I think it's included in the car pack with all the official cars, at Downloads -> Cars & Bots.

It can be quite a challenge to get photos and pictures of the cars that are suitable to work with. What works for me is looking up the wiki pages of the season and races. By doing so, you have a lot of information on one page and you can look for stuff by making use of the terms and names that are mentioned there.

Re: Monza 1966 Track, 1967 Bots and Skin

Notapor Stefanus » Mié Ago 31, 2016 12:18 am

In the coming weeks, I want to finish the Monza track that includes the oval. For now I have 2 versions:

- The version with 2 chicanes (1 before each curve of the oval) which is meant for the World Sportscar Championship of 1967.
- The version without any chicanes, meant for F1 races where the oval was used. For F1 races, the oval was used in 1955, 1956, 1960 and 1961.

No big changes in advertisement, but I added a Gulf advertising board and some fences with spectators and made some changes in the scenery. I have to finish the 1967 World Sportscar Championship car and bot pack, so people can play the 1000 km of Monza. After that I may start working on a huge project: the Nordschleife of the 60's. The map has to be big though, and considering the maximum height of about 4000 pixels, classic Spa may be a better idea... I don't know how people like the style of Monza '66, but the style of the Nordschleife will probably be fairly similar to Monza '66. Even if people aren't enthousiastic about the Nordschleife, I guess I will have fun with it myself. :p
