YES!!! Sunny qualifying session, which means it's easier to determinate the cars' pace.
McLaren is obviously the strongest team.
Mercedes seems to be a little bit stronger in qualifying then Lotus and Red Bull, but let's see how they will be on the race, 'cause in Melbourne, they're race pace wasn't that good.
It seems like we have Lotus and Red Bull with a very similar pace on qualifying. On last race, Grosjean got out of the race, so we didn't see how would be Lotus race pace, and Raikkonen started in a bad position, but he did a great result, 7th, but that's not enough to analyse they're pace. Let's hope to see what can Lotus do on this race. Red Bull had a great race pace last weekend.
Ferrari, Williams and Sauber are very close, it's difficult to say which one is better. Alonso is the 1st driver from these teams, then we have Perez, Maldonado, Massa, Senna and Kobayashi. Looking to the last race and this one, the first 7 teams are McLaren, then Mercedes, Lotus and RedBull very similar, then Ferrari (a bit away from the other 4 teams), after that Sauber and finally Williams, both close to Ferrari.
Force India and Toro Rosso looked stronger then Sauber in Australia's qualifying, but actually, on the race Sauber and Williams were better, and now, in this qualifying session, they're still better. Toro Rosso and Force India are very similar, so it's difficult to say which one is better, it might depend on each track caractheristics.
Then we have Caterham a little bit away. Then Marussia, too away from Caterham and finally Hispania, away from Marussia too. I'll try to make this hierarchy:
1 McLaren
2 Mercedes, Lotus and Red Bull
3 Ferrari
4 Sauber and Williams
5 Toro Rosso and Force India
6 Caterham
7 Marussia
8 HRT
Comparing the two qualifying sessions of this year, the speed trap hierarchy will be:
1 Mercedes (3rd Australia; 1st Sepang)
2 McLaren (2nd Australia; 4th Sepang)
3 Lotus (4th ; 2nd)
4 Sauber (1st ; 7th)
5 Force India (7th ; 3rd)
6 Toro Rosso (5th ; 5th)
7 Williams (6th ; 8th)
8 Caterham (8th ; 6th)
9 Ferrari (9th ; 9th)
10 Red Bull (10th ; 11th)
11 Hispania (12th; 10th)
12 Marussia (11th; 12th)
The other definitions will be chosen considering each team pace. A middle field team with a good speed trap have to have less points in acceleration, rotation, brake, etc. Red Bull need good point at this categories, because they have few speed trap.
